It is true that Sonny Colbrelli did not win any stage in this Tour, nor did he get the results he would certainly want in the sprint, but these factors do not strictly recount the evolution of the Italian, who leaves the Tour as a rider who offers guarantees in any terrain. He started to stand out by attacking in Mûr-de-Bretagne and closed the first week with an impressive 3rd place in the mountain of Tignes, only beaten by two men that have also made our list. He also finished stage 16 in 2nd place, after following David Gaudu’s climbing accelerations. The ability to pass mountains, combined with his sprint, provide Colbrelli with arguments to dispute a wide range of finishes, which leads me to conclude that it will only be a matter of time before we see him win in the Grand Tours.
