14. Harry Sweeny – chosen by Joe Laverick
Harry Sweeny has only been a pro for seven months, yet he has already completed his first Tour de France. The Australian, who graduated from the Lotto Soudal U23 set-up, was active off the front on Stage 12. For a few kilometres, it seemed like it could be a fairytale debut for the 23-year-old. But 3rd place on a stage in his first Tour de France is still impressive. The Aussie admitted to struggling at times during ‘La Grande Boucle’, but he still had enough left for a short, albeit doomed, attack on the Champs Elysees. Sweeny is most certainly a rider to look out for in future grand tours, since he can climb and has a good sprint too. Will he become the next great breakaway artist?
