7. Jasper Philipsen – chosen by Vasco Serrano
At just 23 years old, Jasper Philipsen is one of the best sprinters in the world, even though he is often not recognized as such. Overshadowed by Tim Merlier’s victorious campaign that began at the start of this season and promises to continue until the end, Philipsen has always claimed he was a top sprinter and when he had the opportunity to shine that way, right at the Tour de France, he proved he was right. Even without winning, he finished on the podium on all seven occasions he sprinted, and was the man who most challenged Mark Cavendish’s dominance. But unlike the Brit, Philipsen never struggled to pass mountains within the time limit, which makes him a name for the Green-Jersey in the future.
